Welcome from the Headteacher

On behalf of our whole school community may I offer you a very warm welcome to our wonderful school.  Sacred Heart is a one form entry Catholic primary school with nursery provision, in the town of Rochdale and within the Diocese of Salford. We are very proud of our school and the commitment of the staff in ensuring that it is constantly improving as we strive for excellence together.

Our school works in close partnership with our parish particularly as the children prepare for the Sacraments. Father Simon Firth is a regular visitor to school supporting us all on our journeys of faith and our children often attend Sacred Heart Church where they are warmly welcomed by our active parish community.

Sacred Heart is a vibrant, positive place that provides a safe and welcoming environment in which to learn. Our children enjoy coming to school, are motivated by their successes and become confident, responsible citizens. Jesus taught us that the greatest commandment of all is to Love God and secondly to Love Each Other and this underpins all that we do in school. Our children are secure in the knowledge that we welcome their whole family and work together as a team, with the welfare and education of each child at the heart of all we do. They are also secure in the knowledge that each of them has been created by God the Father in His own image; they are loved for who they are and for what they bring to our school community.

We are committed to ensuring that our wonderful children, irrelevant of their background, achieve the very best of standards and we accept the responsibility that the quality of what our school offers them has a significant impact upon the quality of life outcomes.

Our Governing Body is very supportive and pro-active, we have full membership and Governors regularly visit school spending at least one day per half term in school providing challenge and support for leaders and evaluating school effectiveness. They also support events throughout the year and attend committee meetings and full governors meetings each term.
